Domestic Violence For Batterers & Victims

Introduction

Domestic violence and abuse can happen to anyone, regardless of size, gender, or strength, yet the problem is often overlooked, excused, or denied. This is especially true when the abuse is psychological, rather than physical. Emotional abuse is often minimized, yet it can leave deep and lasting scars. Noticing and acknowledging the warning signs and symptoms of domestic violence and abuse is the first step to ending it. No one should live in fear of the person they love. If you recognize yourself or someone you know in the following warning signs and descriptions of abuse, don’t hesitate to reach out. There is help available.

How do I start my domestic violence counseling?

First you will need to call us to make an appointment or follow the information given on the bottom of this page. Then you would need to bring all necessary documents from your referring agency, whether it be Court, DCFS or Probation department. 

What does it cost for the program?

It will consist of a $50 intake fee at time of registration and $35 per group session which would come to the total of $85 upon intake if you are attending your first class on that day.  We are sorry, we do not accept insurance of any kind.

How long is the program?

The program can consist of 26 or 52 weeks witch every the referring agency requires.  

 Batterers are required to complete 52 weeks.  As for victims, they are required to complete 26 weeks.  Walk-ins are welcome.

When are the group sessions?

Group sessions are held on Thursdays from 4:pm. to 6:pm..  If you are 10 minutes late, you will not be allowed in class.

Will I receive a certificate when I complete the program?

Yes, you will receive a letter and certificate of completion on the last day of the program.    However, if you have a balance due and have not paid it, you will not receive neither a letter or certificate of completion until you balance if paid in full.

Attention!

No one is allowed in class under the influence of any drugs including alcohol and marijuana.  (You may ask to submit a urine test if you fill that you are sober on your own expense. If you test positive, you may be TERMINATED immediately)
