Adult Substance Abuse

Introduction

Substance abuse among our men and women today has been affecting the families of the user as well as the user themselves. In our society today, youth and adults are constantly making choices that not only ruin their own lives, but the lives of their love ones around them. The family of the addict needs to understand that chemical dependency (drugs and alcohol) is not a character weakness, it is a disease and it has to be treated as one. Family members tend to silently concentrate on the addict and their addictive behaviors. This undercurrent can be the source of much family conflict. Our counselor's having first hand experience on what it's like as a prior addict themselves can relate to the client and share the tools needed to sustain a clean and sober lifestyle and become a successful member of society. We accept walk-ins and court ordered referrals.
