Substance Abuse

Youth Substance

Substance abuse among teens have not only been affecting the youth addict, but has families, friends and love ones as well.  In this generation, a good portion of our youth have chosen to make wrong choices including using illegal substances and neglecting their rightful destiny. They are  constantly finding themselves making choices that,  not only effect their own lives, but the lives of their love ones.  The families of the addict  needs to understand that chemical dependency (drugs and alcohol addiction) is not  a character weakness, it is a disease and it has to be treated as one.   Family member tend to silently concentrate on the addict and their addictive behaviors when they should be concentrating on educating themselves on addiction and how it is effecting their family member.  Without education, this can create conflict among the family.

Here at S.O.B.E.R. International, our counselors having first hand experience on what it's like as a recovering addict themselves are able to relate to the client and by being able to share the tools needed to sustain a clean and sober lifestyle and become a successful member of society.
